Terry Young
About
Terry Young is a visionary entrepreneur and strategist with more than two decades of experience at the intersection of culture, innovation, and social impact. He has held leadership roles across Omnicom, IPG, and McKinsey & Co, bringing a distinct blend of strategic vision, systems design, and entrepreneurial acumen to the organizations and communities he serves.
Terry gained global recognition as the founder of sparks & honey, a Cultural Strategy Consultancy within Omnicom, where he built one of the earliest AI platforms for tracking and interpreting cultural shifts to inform strategy and innovation. Widely credited with pioneering the cultural strategy industry, his work has guided Fortune 500 companies, governments, and NGOs in navigating complexity and reimagining what’s possible.
His global perspective was shaped early in his career during two years of Peace Corps service in Kazakhstan, where he led initiatives to strengthen small businesses, stimulate local economies, and develop support programs for orphanages. That experience instilled a lasting commitment to equity, cross-cultural collaboration, and system-level change.
Terry lives in New York with his partner Bryan and their son Xavier, who was born via gestational surrogacy. Deeply committed to LGBTQ+ family advocacy, he brings both personal experience and strategic insight to his board role—championing a future where every LGBTQ+ person has the freedom, support, and infrastructure to build a family.
