Shape the Future of Family Equality’s Work: 2026 Audience Needs Assessment
For more than 45 years, Family Equality has been providing LGBTQ+ people with access to the information they need to make good decisions about their lives, their communities, and their families. From phone trees in the 1980s to webinars and podcasts today, our expert resources have helped families find affirming providers, navigate the complex adoption process, understand the laws and policies affecting their day-to-day lives, and so much more.
But this work isn’t possible without your help. Take 10 minutes to complete our audience needs assessment and help us understand how we might be able to support you and your family better. Participation from as many LGBTQ+ families as possible is essential to ensuring we have a complete and accurate picture of our families’ needs and experiences as we develop programming for the year ahead.
Why this survey? Why now?
LGBTQ+ families are facing a time of increased uncertainty. Last year alone, there were more than 600 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced in statehouses across the country, many of which sought to restrict access to life-saving medical care or prohibit the mere mention of LGBTQ+ families in the classroom. Now more than ever, our families need resources, education, and support.

About our Audience Needs Assessment
Our 2026 survey consists of only 12 questions and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. The assessment is essential to learning about…
- The core challenges that LGBTQ+ families are facing today,
- Current information gaps within the community,
- The resources Family Equality can create to address those challenges and information gaps, and
- The best modes and methods of providing access to those resources
It will inform our programming related to our resource library, educational events and webinars, podcast production, shortform video content, and more.
We are especially eager to collect feedback from a wide variety of LGBTQ+ families and experiences.
