St. Mary, a preschool in Colorado, wants to deny admission to children of LGBTQ+ parents and still receive public funding through Colorado’s universal preschool program.
As this case heads to the highest court in the nation, the stories of families like yours help people understand what’s at stake — and can even shape what happens next.

Specifically, we’re looking for stories about the harm of state-sanctioned discrimination.
- Was there ever a time that you were turned away from receiving government services because of what your family looked like?
- If not, how would it make you feel to be turned away from taxpayer-funded programs — to be told by your home state that some schools, programs, or services just “aren’t for people like you”?
The stories do not have to be recent, and people’s kids do not have to still be school age.
All are welcome to share — including adults raised by LGBTQ+ parents, LGBTQ+ parents and caregivers, educators, members of the faith community, grandparents, and allies.
Stories may be shared in public materials or amicus briefs submitted to the Supreme Court. If that’s the case, we will contact you; no stories will be shared without advanced notice and your explicit permission.
