Food & Drink
Wine
Since the release of our first wine in 2016, Equality Vines has donated nearly $300,000* to equality organizations. It was founded by Jim Obergefell, the lead plaintiff in Obergefell v. Hodges, and Matt Grove, an expert in sustainable wines.
Plus, a portion of proceeds from GEMs — a line of delicious sparkling wines — goes to supporting Family Equality’s work!
Spices
We are here to put money, equity, and power into the best regenerative spice farms across South Asia, and bring wildly delicious, hella potent flavors into your home cooking. From day one, queerness has been at the foundation of this business, both as an identity shared by many on the team, but also as a way of approaching the world, of doing things differently, and of embodying the beautiful possibility in the space of Other.
Specialty coffee
Queer, woman-owned, and built for everyone, we created Couplet to make great coffee more fun and approachable. We skip the pretentious tasting notes and gatekeeping and get right to the good part – ridiculously delicious coffee you can prepare however you like.
PB Love Co.
Our purpose is feeding people real delicious food & spreading smiles. PB Love’s commitment to using high-quality ingredients, sustainability practices, & attention to detail are all just a few parts of great people making great food. PB Love Co. uses dry roasted nuts, organic all-natural sweeteners, and is palm oil-free. Ground fresh every week in Denver, Colorado.
Beauty & Fashion
Fragrances
Bold, boundary-breaking, and beautifully in-between. We are rooted in genderfulness – not as a passing trend, but as a constant way of being. Invite you into the power of scent – where fragrance isn’t gendered, but generous. Where binaries dissolve. And something new takes shape.
Makeup & skincare
NOTO is a multi-use, gender-inclusive, clean cosmetic line. Packed with uncomplicated yet high-performing ingredients that will change your skin with regular use, NOTO celebrates the authentic and diverse layers of what self-expression and beauty can mean. We are a champion for ferocious individuality, while cultivating a creative and mindful community along the way.
Suits & formal wear
Kirrin Finch is a conscientious clothing company, founded by Brooklyn-based couple Laura Moffat and Kelly Sanders Moffat, that meets the growing demand for gender-defying fashion by creating menswear-inspired apparel designed to fit a range of female and non-binary bodies. The inspiration for the business was borne out of our own frustration at being unable to find clothes that match our personal style. As women who tend to gravitate towards button-up shirts and bow ties, we often find ourselves envying the clothes in the men’s section, but are always frustrated because they are not designed to fit a woman’s body.
Swimsuits
Chromat is committed to empowering people of all shapes and sizes through perfectly fit garments for every body. They hope that every time you wear Chromat, it reinforces the message that beauty is expansive and that every body is worthy of love, acceptance and empowering swimwear. Chromat is produced in safe, ethical, fair-wage factories in New York City and Sofia, Bulgaria. They are committed to designing innovative swim and bodywear while ensuring a healthier planet.
More Thoughtful Gifts
Stationery
At INK MEETS PAPER, we like words. Even more so, we like handwritten words: a note cherished because of the sender’s loopy handwriting, because of the thoughtful sentiment, because someone took the time to address and mail that note. Handwritten communication is one of the most authentic interactions you can share with someone, and we’re passionate about creating products to celebrate and uphold the beauty of the handwritten and the handcrafted.
Books
The Astoria Bookshop is a queer woman-owned, general interest bookstore in the heart of Western Queens. The store opened for business on August 21st, 2013, and moved to 36-19 30th Street in May 2023. Our mission is to serve our diverse, vibrant community with the books we stock and the events we host.
History
This beautiful, moving tome honors the brave LGBTQ+ couples, activists, and allies who fought for and ultimately gained the right to marry. The chronological presentation of 100 inspiring stories of these dauntless partners up to the strategists of today, recount how they were instrumental in bringing about this basic civil right. Beginning in the pre-1970s era when gay couples were nearly invisible, the story then shifts to the growing activism of the 1980s and 1990s, continues with the landmark Supreme Court ruling in 2015, which granted full marriage equality across the nation, and concludes with an exploration of current issues. These moving profiles, along with archival images, feature couples from major court cases, such as Jim Obergefell and John Arthur, along with well-known personalities whose narratives helped draw attention to marriage equality, including Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni, George and Brad Takei, and Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
