Family Equality Launches Out with It, a Podcast Hosted by President & CEO Jaymes Black and Featuring Stars like Heather Dubrow, Colton Underwood, and Adair Curtis

The biweekly video and audio podcast invites celebrities, business leaders, advocates, and changemakers to get raw and honest about the movement for LGBTQ+ equality

New York, NY — To celebrate Family Equality Day of Giving, Family Equality launched their new star-studded podcast, Out With It: Unleash, Unlearn, Understand, hosted by President and CEO, Jaymes Black. Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow, The Bachelor and Daddyhood personality Colton Underwood, and Styling Hollywood trailblazer Adair Curtis are featured in the first three episodes, released today.

“People ask me why I came back to Housewives,” Dubrow says in the first episode, where she talks about being the parent to LGBTQ+ children and the role allies can play in the movement for LGBTQ+ equality. “And I say, because I’ve got this huge platform, and…just having us on television with…kids that are different genders and different sexualities, it gives people something to look at and say, ‘Oh, well, that’s like my kid….Oh, that’s my family.’”

“As I was coming out, there [were] three main categories of what was holding me back,” reflects Underwood in an episode about his fertility journey and his relationship with faith. “It was my religion and my faith, the sports culture and community, and my desire to want to become a dad. And what I’ve since learned is that there is still the ability to bring your ‘traditional’ values with you into your queerness…I want to keep that part of me.”

“We don’t do anything just for the look,” says Curtis, a Family Equality board member, who explores the experience of being a Black gay parent in Out With It’s third episode. “This is a real family. We love each other. We’re in love with each other…This is who we are. This is who we were yesterday. This is who we are today…We can only just be ourselves.”

The podcast is available to listen to on Spotify, iHeart Radio, Apple Podcasts, and other players. It’s also available to watch on Youtube
