November is National Adoption Month, so the Family Equality Council is launching a campaign called Allies for Adoption in order to spotlight the beauty of LGBT families and call attention to the discriminatory and cruel barriers that they face when it comes to adoption.
The campaign’s website provides an overview of adoption laws in all 50 states (whether each allows joint adoption, second-parent adoption, and step-parent adoption for same-sex couples) as well as the numbers of kids in foster care, children available for adoption, and same-sex couples raising children.
