Brontez Purnell is an Oakland-based poet, musician, and dancer and 2018 winner of the Whiting Award for Fiction. In addition to many other works that explore sexuality, gender, and race, Brontez is the author of children’s book
The Nightlife of Jacuzzi Gaskette which was released in 2019.
Lil Miss Hot Mess is the author of the children’s book
The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish, which was released in May 2020 based on her song that she’s been singing at DQSH events across the country. Known for her activism and high-concept performances, she also helped lead the #MyNameIs campaign against Facebook’s so-called “real names” policy and has performed everywhere from San Francisco’s legendary worker-owned bar The Stud to Stanford University, SF MOMA, and Saturday Night Live.
Michelle Tea is the author of over a dozen books for children and adults, including the PEN Award-winning Against Memoir. They are the creator of cultural interventions such as Sister Spit, Mutha Magazine, and Drag Queen Story Hour.
