the Tavern, Family Equality Council’s NYC event, where we
celebrate our successes as a community of LGBT families and allies
and highlight the work of individuals who contribute greatly to
family equality.
We honored Terry Boggis, Director of Center Kids
at the LGBT Center in NYC, with our first Hostetter-Habib Family
Award for her +20 years of front-line work for LGBT families in New
York and beyond.
We also honored Platinum recording artist Clay Aiken, who spoke
eloquently about the need to live open, honest lives as LGBT
parents when he came out in People magazine last year. Clay is
recently a father to son Parker.
We’ll have more photos and information about the event in the next
few days. For now, enjoy some video clips posted by Tavern
attendees.
(Hat tip to the Clay Aiken News Network for posting these clips
and recognizing Family Equality Council. Many friends and allies
were made among Clay’s devoted fans over the past few months
preparing for this event.)
