We’re celebrating our 40th anniversary this year, and as we plan for the next forty years and beyond, our Board of Directors and staff took a look at our name and decided it’s time for a change.
In our day-to-day work, our supporters, stakeholders, and the families that we serve most often refer to us simply as “Family Equality,” so we’ve decided to drop the word “Council” from our name.
We believe there’s power in a short, simple name that sums up what we’re fighting for: lived and legal equality for all LGBTQ+ families.
Some personal news: we're changing our name to Family Equality!
