“We’re excited to bring another talented professional on board to develop our storytelling initiatives, expanding our impact for existing LGBTQ families, and for those ready to form them.”
Today we’re delighted to welcome Jessika Davidson to the Family Equality Council Communications Team! Jessika joins us in the newly created position of Digital Campaigns Manager, and will play a pivotal role in Family Equality Council’s storytelling initiatives, working to realize our vision of a future in which every LGBTQ person has the right and opportunity to form and sustain a loving family, regardless of who they are or where they live. The creation of the Digital Campaigns Manager position was made possible by generous donations to the Ric Swezey Memorial Fund, which is dedicated to telling the stories of everyday LGBTQ families and contributing to the groundswell of public opinion that will turn the tide on a history of discrimination and inequality for our families.
Jessika has dedicated her career to working for non profit social service and advocacy campaigns, working at the intersection of policy, movement building, field and communications strategy. Prior to joining Family Equality Council, she worked in marketing and communications for the Houston Museum of African American Culture, and for the Montrose Center, one of the largest LGBTQ service centers in the South.
CEO Rev. Stan J. Sloan said “Welcoming Jessika to our Communications Team marks another significant step in Family Equality Council’s growth during 2017. We are excited to bring another talented professional on board to develop our storytelling initiatives, expanding our impact for existing LGBTQ families, and for those ready to form them.”
Jessika received her bachelor of arts degree in Mass Communications and is currently earning her Master of Arts degree in Public relations from Stephen F. Austin State University. She lives in Houston, Texas with her family and terrier mix rescue Riley.
