Rhode Island, protect the freedom to read!

Text that reads, "Protect the Freedom to Read!"

The Rhode Island senate is considering the “Freedom to Read Act,” a comprehensive bill that would promote free expression and access of information by prohibiting censorship of library materials in Rhode Island.

If passed, this bill would allow young people access to excellent books—powerful tools and resources that would help them understand more about the world around them and encourage them to be life-long learners.

NOW is the time to speak out. Use the tool on this page to contact state senators and tell them that everyday Rhode Islanders SUPPORT this bill. The more personal you can make the letter, the better.

Together, we can send a clear message that Rhode Island supports the freedom to read!
