Today, our Legislative Counsel Michael Porcello attended the introduction event for the Healthy Families Act. The legislation, introduced by Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) and Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), aims to establish a national standard for paid sick days. Currently, at least 43 million private sector workers in this country are unable to earn paid sick days. Without this basic support, workers are forced to choose between their health or their children’s health and a paycheck or even their jobs.
