Dear __________,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am reaching out to you personally to invite you to a very special fundraiser for Family Equality taking place {at our home/ at our restaurant/bar} on {DATE and Time}.
With the rise in anti-LGBTQ+ bills, many of which directly attack LGBTQ+ youth and families, and after the devastating Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, affecting generations to come, these fundraisers are crucial to the vital work Family Equality does every day, advocating and supporting families across the country.
This benefit will offer a chance for guests to mingle, enjoy light appetizers and beverages, and hear about the challenges that lie ahead for the LGBTQ+ community and how Family Equality is ready to meet this moment head-on.
Here is the link to the event page where you can register to attend. [LINK TO EVENT PAGE]. We really hope you can make this very special event.
Best,

Dear ______________,
I hope you are doing well.
On [DATE], we are hosting a fundraiser for Family Equality. Family Equality is a national non-profit that exists to create a world where everyone can experience the unconditional love, safety and belonging of family. They are outspoken change makers, creating an equitable LGBTQ+ family narrative, through advocacy, community, and education. They advance lived and legal equality for LGBTQ+ people, ensuring that everyone has the freedom to find, form, and sustain their families.
I would like to invite you to join us that day to mingle, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages, and hear about the challenges that lie ahead for the LGBTQ+ community and how Family Equality is ready to meet this moment head-on. I would also love to be able to share that you are a proud sponsor of this event.
These events are truly unmatched visibility opportunities for you and can be unique and beneficial ways to show your support, while tapping into the rapidly growing market of those families who identify as LGBTQ+.

- In 2023, more than 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced in states across the country—shattering last year’s record-breaking 300+ bills. Many of these bills target transgender people, including transgender youth, as well as LGBTQ+ youth and families in schools.
- 12 anti-trans bills were introduced in Virginia’s legislature in 2023, more than any previous year and the seventh highest number in the nation.
- DC is one of the thirteen states that allows adoption and foster care agencies to turn away LGBTQ+ people from adopting.
- Several states, including Tennessee, have restricted life-saving gender-affirming care for youth — and others have gone as far as to redefine child abuse to include parents who support their transgender child.
- Florida passed a bill to expand the state’s now infamous “Don’t Say Gay and Trans” legislation, and we’ve seen 45 copycat bills in states across the country — including in North Carolina. Just as we did in Florida, we are working hard to support state leaders in trying to defeat those bills, but, some are passing despite everyone’s hard work and best efforts.

- 6:00pm – Hosts give official welcome by…

7:00pm – Event ends. A smashing success!! The next day, Lisa will email you with the total amount raised for your fundraising event.
