Family Equality’s LA Impact gala on Saturday, October 14, will now be held at Citizen News, the historical event space by the Mother Wolf team, which recently underwent a state-of-the-art transformation and redesign.
In solidarity with the Southern California hotel workers who are currently striking, the Family Equality West Coast fundraising gala, LA Impact: There’s No Place Like Home, is relocating to a new venue. The date will remain Saturday, October 14 but this year’s gala will now take place at the historic venue, Citizen News, in the heart of Hollywood and connected to the acclaimed Mother Wolf restaurant.
In late August, Unite Here Local 11, the union representing the hotel workers, urged conventions to not use hotels and event spaces at hotels without a contract for their workers.
As an organization dedicated to social justice and equality for all, Family Equality believes in the fundamental principle that workers’ rights are human rights. Family Equality shares their unwavering support for the Southern California hotel workers who are currently engaged in a critical struggle for better working conditions, fair wages, and dignity in their workplaces.

As part of the event, Family Equality will honor Bruce Cohen — Oscar and Tony-winning, Emmy-nominated producer of film, television, theater, and live events — and Niecy Nash-Betts — Emmy®, Critics Choice and NAACP Award-winning and Golden Globe®-nominated actress and producer. A VIP reception hosted by honorary co-chairs Heather Dubrow, Dan Bucatinsky, and friends and sponsored by Equality Vines. starts at 5:30 PM PT and the red carpet and cocktails start at 6:00 PM PT.
