2023 is a year of transformation for Family Equality. From the steps of state legislatures to the beaches of Provincetown, our team is working tirelessly to usher in a new chapter — for our organization and for LGBTQ+ families across the country. The world is changing, and so must we!
That’s why today, we’re thrilled to announce the newest transformation taking place at Family Equality: A revamped leadership model that will position us to better serve our community and face the challenges of today and tomorrow.
With 550 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced in states across the country, we need to be able to act fast and act smart to protect the freedoms of our families. Now more aligned with our nonprofit peers and contemporary management best practices, our new framework empowers our team to be more agile and responsive to the evolving needs of our community. And, by updating our titles, we hope to achieve new levels of clarity and transparency, which means you can more easily connect with the Family Equality team member who can best meet your needs.
The leadership transformation also includes implementing a new reporting structure between the President and Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice Presidents, and Vice Presidents to facilitate a more balanced and sustainable division of labor for strategic initiatives, daily operations, organizational culture and enhanced people operations to support staff needs. Executive Vice Presidents will report directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, while Vice Presidents will report to one of two Executive Vice Presidents.
