The critically-acclaimed cast of & Juliet, award-winning Justin Cooley from Kimberly Akimbo, and triple-threat J Harrison Ghee from Some Like It Hot join a star-studded program to benefit LGBTQ+ families
Family Equality, the nation’s leading organization for current and future LGBTQ+ families, is delighted to announce that the casts of global sensation & Juliet, critically-acclaimed Kimberly Akimbo, and infectious Some Like It Hot will be performing live at Night at the Pier in New York City at Pier Sixty on May 15, 2023.
The Broadway performances join Visibility Award honorees Amrit Kapai and Nicholas Kouchoukos, Hostetter-Habib Family Award winner, Nicholas Hite, and Family Equality CEO Stacey Stevenson for a dynamic program produced by Academy Award-winner Bruce Cohen.
“We’re thrilled to feature some of Broadway’s hottest shows and top talent,” said Stevenson. “Between the phenomenal performances and the powerful stories of our honorees, it will be an inspiring night.”

With hundreds of anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced in states across the country that seek to silence and erase the experiences of LGBTQ+ youth and families, Night at the Pier is a special evening spotlighting and celebrating the stories of LGBTQ+ families, advocates, and allies. It’s also an opportunity to garner support for this critical work. Past honorees have included Jordan Roth and Richie Jackson, Scott Ellis, Sergio Trujillo, Katie Couric, ABC’s miniseries When We Rise and more.
About Night at the Pier
Night at the Pier will take place at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers in New York City on May 15.
