The parents of a gay soldier who was killed in Afghanistan are working to garner Veteran support against the Minnesota anti-gay marriage amendment. Lori and Jeff Wilfahrt, whose son was killed in 2011, helped launch Veterans United yesterday, a group which will partner with Minnesotans United For All Families. Together the groups will work to defeat the amendment which would define marriage between one man and one woman.
Officials say the veterans group already has more than 100 members, but recent polls show that slightly more Minnesotans favor the anti-gay marriage amendment, than oppose it.
