The official repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” marks its one year anniversary this week. Although there are still many issues to be tackled to ensure protections and benefits for members of the military who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, there have also been many reasons for celebration.
Milestones over the past year include weddings, pride parades and the reinstatement of military members who were unfairly discharged under the policy that prohibited LGBT members from serving openly.
