Family Equality joins LGBTQ+ families and organizations across the globe in celebrating International Family Equality Day 2021.
Every year, families, communities, friends, and allies come together on the first Sunday of May to support and celebrate the beauty of family diversity and equality. Since 2012, International Family Equality has been a day marked by small informal gatherings and country-wide marches. While this year’s celebrations may look different due to COVID-19, we invite everyone to honor the day by embracing the beauty, uniqueness, and value of their families—no matter their composition, origin, or legal status.
Today, and every day, we reaffirm our commitment to:
- Fight for a world where all families can be themselves free of fear, prejudice, and discrimination.
- Empower families with the support, connection, and resources they need to be their authentic selves.
- Show the world that love makes a family.
- Work with decision-makers to usher in lived and legal equality for our families.
