At Family Equality, we believe that it is important for LGBTQ+ people to be connected with LGBTQ+ practitioners. This allows for LGBTQ+ prospective parents to be better seen, heard & validated on their family formation journey. As such, we are committed to giving queer & trans family building professionals access to our professional training program. This will allow LGBTQ+ prospective parents to be aware of which LGBTQ+ practitioners have completed this training.
About the Scholarship
Our scholarship includes complimentary access to Open Door, Family Equality’s professional training program for family building professionals. This program includes 3 training modules- Beyond Diversity: LGBTQ+ 101, Trans Fertility Considerations, and Rainbow Flags: Building an Inclusive Practice. Each module is self-paced, judgement-free and evidence based.
In pursuing this scholarship, applicants are agreeing to be on Family Equality’s go-to list for Open Door reviews, testimony and relevant media quotes. We may also reach out asking for applicants to contribute to relevant resources & blog posts. All personal information will be kept private and only accessed by Family Equality staff.
How to Apply
Please complete the form below in order to apply for our scholarship. After your application is submitted, a Family Equality staff will contact you with Open Door enrollment information.
If you are an LGBTQ+ birth worker who facilitates training and education on similar content, you may be able to bypass the Open Door modules and still be listed in our Directory. Email us to inquire further!
