Iowans: Speak Out to Protect Transgender Rights

Speak Out to Protect Transgender Iowans

Text that reads, "Protect Transgender Iowans"

The Iowa House released the Iowa Civil Rights Removal Act (HSB242), a cruel piece of legislation that would strip transgender Iowans of critical anti-discrimination protections.

If passed, this bill would remove of transgender Iowans’ civil rights protections, restroom restrictions, birth certificate restrictions, a legal redefinition of sex that erases trans people from existence, and more.

NOW is the time to speak out. Use the tool on this page to contact House Republicans and tell them that everyday Iowans do NOT support this bill. The more personal you can make the letter, the better. With every email they receive, the harder it becomes to vote “yes.”

No one should be turned away or denied basic life necessities because of who they are or how they identify. Together, we will show Iowa lawmakers that hate has no place in our state.
