Transgender Day of Remembrance 2023

From our President and CEO, Stacey Stevenson

Today, Monday, November 20 marks Transgender Day of Remembrance, a time to honor the memory of the lives that have been taken by anti-transgender violence throughout the years. Far too often, violence against our trans siblings goes unreported, unnoticed, or misrepresented in the media.

At a time when so many are seeking to silence, harm, and erase transgender people, the importance of this day cannot be understated. We must remember those we’ve lost. We must say their names. And, we must honor their memory by continuing this fight for justice.

I encourage you to join us in observing Transgender Day of Remembrance this year by attending a virtual or in-person vigil, attending a virtual screening of Intentionally Erased (code: family), and supporting organizations like Family Equality that are fighting anti-trans violence every day.
