Celebrating Nonbinary Parents Day with Parent & Educator Johnny Blazes

This April 18, we invite you to join us in celebrating Nonbinary Parents Day, a special spotlight on the enby parents in our lives.

At Family Equality, we know that there is no one way to build a family, nor is there any single universal kind of parent. Some parents celebrate Mothers’ Day in May, Fathers’ Day in June, or parents day in July. When Johnny became a parent, they wanted a special day to celebrate their parenthood—and they invited their nonbinary parent friends to join along.

Jess Venable-Novak, Family Equality’s Family Engagement Manager, sat down to talk with Johnny about being a nonbinary parent, founding a special day to celebrate nonbinary parents, and how the holiday has changed over the years.
