In April 2020 LGBTQ+ families in New York celebrated a significant win; a rare spark of good news amid the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. With the support of New York lawmakers, families, and advocates, the Child-Parent Security Act was signed into law, legalizing gestational surrogacy in the Empire state and modernizing parentage law for all LGBTQ+ families.
