A Celebration of Black History Month and Parenting
This Outspoken Voices episode is a celebration of Black History Month and parenting. We are joined by two amazing guests highlighting how our multiple identities impact our daily lives. Both guests and their families are longtime supporters of Family Equality Council.
In the episode we hear our guests share their story of family creation, highlighting major identity markers and talking about the triumphs, joys and challenges of being a single parent, as well as how race has helped shape their family.
Meet Our Guests
Denise Hinds is the Assistant Executive Director at Good Shepherd Services in New York, a board member for Family Equality Council and a parent. Denise co-parents her 14 year old daughter with her ex-wife.
Chris Harris is a pediatric pulmonologist at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, CA and a father to his 14 year old daughter.
