Jamie Bergeron grew up in Central New York with her 2 moms, Sharon and Lynette, and brother Casey. After attending Family Week in the late 90’s as a participant with COLAGE, Jamie became committed to building community and advocating for LGBTQ families and young adults. She also has two lesbian grandmothers who lived vibrant lives among the LGBTQ community in Rochester, NY, which adds to her interest in creating strong intergenerational bonds between LGBTQ folks.
Jamie currently works at Northeastern University in Institutional Diversity and Inclusion, and has presented and consulted with organizations, colleges and universities, and conferences across the Northeast Region. She loves working among energetic, and social justice oriented teams. For this reason, Jamie is very excited to join the New England Advisory Council!
Jamie and her wife, Benae, recently celebrated their two year wedding anniversary. They live in Jamaica Plain, and enjoy taking part in the arts & cultural events throughout the community. In the local community, Jamie volunteers as Chapter Director for COLAGE of Greater Boston, a social justice and leadership development organization for kids & teens ages 8-18 with one or more LGBTQ parent.
