Black History Month: Lee Daniels

Throughout the month of February, Family Equality Council is celebrating Black History Month by honoring the accomplishments, contributions, and lives of LGBT Black Americans, past and present.

 

Lee Daniels (12/24/1959- )—Director and producer. Daniels is the second African American director ever nominated for an Academy Award, and also a Golden Globe and Oscar contender. Best known for his films Monster’s Ball (2001) and Precious (2009). He is the father of twins Clara and Liam (pictured) with his former partner Billy Hopkins.
