Voter ID Laws Impact Trans Communities

While it has never been easy for trans voters to go to the polls, this election season an increasing number of states have introduced stricter voter ID laws. According to a report from The Williams Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles Law School, 25,000 transgender people will have problems or be prevented from voting due to recent voting laws. 

While the report is based on dated material which does not reflect developments on voter ID laws after April, it is likely that there will still be a large number of trans voters who will face difficulty at the polls.
