This season has seen an increase of LGB characters on television and according to GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) the number of gay and bisexual characters on scripted broadcast network TV is at the highest level ever.
GLAAD released its 17th annual “Where We Are on TV” report showing that 4.4 percent of actors with reocurring roles in 2012-2013 will portray LGBT characters. This number is an increase from the 2.9 percent in 2011.
