What if YOU ran Washington?

What would you do if you ran Washington?

Would you fight for the freedom to marry? Would you increase spending on education or do more to create safer schools?

On May 17th, LGBT families from across the country will get the opportunity to tell lawmakers what they want to see happen in Washington during this election year.

Family Weekend in Washington will allow LGBT families and our supporters to meet directly with lawmakers and discuss issues that are important to all of us – like safe schools, the repeal of the so-called “Defense of Marriage Act” and adoption/foster care policies.

Already families are registering to join us on May 17th and the more voices we bring to Washington, the louder our demand for justice will be.

This is our first ever federal lobby day, but we want this to be an experience that you and your family will never forget.

That’s why we’re inviting our families to stay in DC for the weekend. On Friday, May 18th and Saturday, My 19th, we’ve put together a great schedule of sightseeing opportunities and free events in Washington that our families can enjoy together, like a guided tour of the White House, a trip to the National Zoo and a free concert at the Kennedy Center.

Family Weekend in Washington will provide your children a real life civics lesson on how laws and policies that affect our families are made while allowing you to enjoy the cultural and historic offerings of our nation’s capital.

We are hopeful that you will be able to accept our invitation and join us for this monumental event.

P.S. You’ll also get a chance to meet our honorary co-chair of the event, Zach Wahls, whose impassioned speech before Iowa state legislature turned him into a Youtube sensation and LGBT family advocate.
