Today is the 10th annual International Transgender Day of
Remembrance, commemorating the lives of transgender people lost to
anti-transgender violence over the past year.

Advocates have counted more than 50 transgender people killed
already in 2008. Organizers of the Day of Remembrance are guided by
this thought:
