Family Equality Takes the Motor City by Storm

…or we will be, at least 🙂

February 6-10 is this year’s annual Creating Change
Conference
, produced by the National Gay & Lesbian
Task Force. Creating
Change
has been around for decades. It’s the largest, most
robust LGBTQ activist conference this side of the Prime Meridian.
And Family Equality
Council
is going in large numbers this year. At least 5 of our
staff members will be there, learning new strategies in our fight
for family equality.

We’ll also be providing some new strategies of our own, and
bringing together a host of other organizations and activists for
the first-ever family-focused training institute, called
“Families to the Front.” This day-long learning
opportunity will take place on Thursday, February 7 at the
conference site in Detroit, MI. We’ll have representatives from
Immigration
Equality
, PFLAG, COLAGE, Equality California, and more.

Experienced trainers will talk about LGBTQ-headed families in the
media, in the fight for marriage equality, in immigration law and
debates, in right wing strategy, and more!

We’re going to bring a diverse group of people together, to teach
and to learn. If you’re interested in attending, visit the Creating Change website today
and sign up. If you have questions about the training, contact
institute organizer Dustin Kight at the Family Equality Council:
