DESCRIPTION: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLet’s honor the 10th anniversary of marriage equality with Family Equality and LGBTQ+ families across the country as we enjoy a casual hour of connection\, reflection\, and storytelling centering around the theme of COMMITMENT. \n\n\n\nFrom black tie affairs to Canadian elopements—town hall weddings to commitment ceremonies—we want to hear how you and your family have vowed to love and cherish each other. If you’re searching for a chance to connect\, reflect\, and bring visibility to families like yours\, register for log-in information today! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister to receive the zoom link!\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAll are invited to attend this free event\, although registration is required to receive the Zoom meeting information. Note that stories will be recorded for possible use on Family Equality’s channels. No stories will be shared on Family Equality’s public channels without prior expressed consent.

SUMMARY:Boyhood Reimagined: A Reading and Q&A
DESCRIPTION:What is it like to be a queer mom raising a son in America today? Join us for an inspiring virtual reading and discussion with the authors and contributors of Boyhood Reimagined: Stories of Queer Moms Raising Sons. Together over Zoom\, we’ll discuss the joys and challenges of trying to raise sons with healthy relationships to gender and masculinity amidst accelerating challenges to LGBTQ+ families. \n\n\n\nAll are invited to attend this free event\, although registration is required.  \n\n\n\n\nregister today!\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout Boyhood Reimagined: Stories of Queer Moms Raising Sons\n\n\n\nA family with two moms and a son seems pretty ordinary to many Americans in 2025. But with a Republican majority in all three branches\, the rise of Christian nationalism\, and the ultra-conservative Supreme court\, queer moms face ongoing and accelerating challenges to their families. The personal essays in Boyhood Reimagined ask particular questions about parenting and feminism during a time when traditional male dominance continues to shape societal expectations\, limit opportunities for women and non-binary individuals\, and influence political and economic power structures. Do queer moms practicing feminist parenting raise sons with a healthy relationship to gender and masculinity? Are sons of queer moms protected from a culture of misogyny? And what important lessons do queer moms of sons have to teach other progressive parents? \n\n\n\nPre-order Boyhood Reimagined from your local bookstore today! \n\n\n\nAbout Our Guests\n\n\n\nGail Marlene Schwartz is a queer mom\, a dual citizen\, and the pickleball champion of her household. SUMMARY:Family Week: Reading and Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Let’s get Family Week started early! Join us for an exciting reading and discussion with Sarah Moon\, author of the middle-grade book Family Week\, and the mastermind behind Family Week 2025\, Dejon Campbell (Senior Manager\, Program Events)! \n\n\n\nLive on Facebook and Youtube\, we’ll discuss the magic of Family Week past and present\, what’s on the agenda for Family Week 2025\, and answer YOUR burning Family Week questions! \n\n\n\n\nTune in on Youtube\n\n\n\nTune in on Facebook\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT OUR GUESTS:\n\n\n\nSarah Moon loves to write books for young people—especially queer books for young people. In her regular life\, she’s a teacher\, so she loves doing school visits and answering questions from readers. In her spare time\, she builds LEGO with her kid and thanks the heavens for her amazing wife.  \n\n\n\nDejon Campbell is the Senior Manager\, Program Events for Family Equality. In his role\, Dejon oversees the programming for Family Week and provides support for a number of other events for the organization.  \n\n\n\nPrior to joining Family Equality\, was a TV News Anchor and Reporter. Prior to that\, Dejon spent years leading programming efforts that supported families both nationally and internationally. He is excited to have the opportunity to bring both his experience and passion to an organization that focuses on advancing equality for LGBTQ+ families.  \n\n\n\nAt any given day\, you can find Dejon with a cup of coffee in his hand\, recording a TikTok\, or just trying to make someone smile with the corniest joke he can come up with.  \n\n\n\nABOUT FAMILY WEEK\n\n\n\nFour best friends spend Family Week together at an annual gathering of LGBTQ+ families in Provincetown\, MA—the largest of its kind across the world—in this middle grade coming-of-age story that celebrates identity\, acceptance\, and found family. \n\n\n\nFor as long as they can remember\, Mac\, Lina\, Milo and Avery have celebrated Family Week together in “the smallest\, gayest town in the world”—Provincetown\, Massachusetts. \n\n\n\nBut this summer\, their big rented beach house feels different. Avery’s dads are splitting up\, and her life feels like it’s falling apart. Milo’s flunked seventh grade\, which means everyone is moving on to bigger and better things except for him. Mac’s on his way to a progressive boarding school that lets transgender kids like him play soccer\, but it means leaving his twin sister\, Lina\, and his moms—and the safety of home—behind. \n\n\n\nEverything is changing\, and for Lina\, it feels like it’s happening with or without her. Avery\, Milo\, and Mac know this is going to be their last summer together. But Lina can’t accept that—and if she can make this the best summer ever\, maybe she’ll convince them that there will be a Family Week next year. Good things might not last in the real world\, but they do in P-town…. Right? \n\n\n\nOrder Family Week from your local bookstore today — the perfect read for a roadtrip to PTown!
