SUMMARY:LGBTQ-&-A: Community Conversations
DESCRIPTION:Calling all LGBTQ+ prospective parents- especially our trans & non-binary parents-to-be! \nIn this LGBTQ & A: Community Conversation session we will be discussing strategies for self-advocating in fertility spaces. Too often\, as LGBTQ+ people\, we don’t have access to LGBTQ+ friendly and LGBTQ+ competent family building practitioners. This puts our community – specifically transgender and non-binary people – in a position of needing to advocate for ourselves and our needs while also being a patient and receiving services. During our time together we will be exploring how folks can balance self-advocacy and self-care. \nOur LGBTQ & A: Community Conversation sessions are interactive and a space for folks to come and listen\, but also engage and share their experience with the session’s topic. We hope you’ll join us! \nThis session is sponsored by California Cryobank. \nTo register for this event and receive log-in info\, fill out the form below:  \nOops! We could not locate your form. \nASL interpretation is available for this conversation. Please email us to request it!

SUMMARY:Talking To Your Kids About Sex: For Families with Youth 9+
DESCRIPTION:When it comes to talking to your children about sex\, our motto is: Talk early\, talk often! That’s right—we believe parents are the most influential sex educators for their children. From toddlerhood to the teenage years\, there are millions of opportunities for you to start conversations in a way that will lead to healthy attitudes and outcomes. Join Family Tree Clinic’s Sex Educator\, Lindsey Hoskins\, to learn more about how to communicate with your children about sexuality in a way that is healthy and developmentally appropriate. If the thought of “the talk” makes your palms sweat a little\, this workshop is for you! \nThis workshop will be geared towards parents/caregivers of children 9 years old and older. \nOops! We could not locate your form. \nLindsey Hoskins is a deeply committed sex nerd with a degree in Sex Education. She dove into this work in 1999 and fell in love with helping folks get comfy and start talking about topics that can often be challenging. Lindsey joined Family Tree in 2002 and is now the Director of Health Education. Lindsey is most proud of the peer sex-ed program she started for queer and trans teens and her work with parents of young children. Lindsey is happiest when teaching puberty\, and don’t even get her started on lube. In 2017\, her book\, Principles of Pleasure: Working with the Good Stuff as Sex Therapists and Educators\, was released. Her mother is very proud.
